Ingredients
- 300g pasta (fusilli or penne)
- 25g butter
- 25g plain flour
- 300ml milk
- 80g cheddar cheese, grated
- 2 x 145g tins tuna in spring water, drained
- 1 x 200g tin sweetcorn, drained
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Method
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan)/Gas Mark 6. Cook the pasta according to the packet instructions until just al dente, then drain.
- Meanwhile, make the cheese sauce: melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stir in the flour, and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, a little at a time, until you have a smooth sauce. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring, until thickened.
- Remove from the heat and stir in two-thirds of the cheddar until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
- Stir the drained pasta, tuna, and sweetcorn into the cheese sauce until well combined.
- Tip into a baking dish, scatter over the remaining cheese, and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbling.
